The Martini, an iconic cocktail, traces its roots to the 19th century. Its exact origin is uncertain, though likely American. Originally made with gin and vermouth, it evolved into various iterations, including the popular "dry" Martini with less vermouth and the now-popular "dirty" Martini with a splash of olive brine.
